I experienced Christ’s love for me while on this retreat.

Everest Collegiate Girls High School participated in a retreat at Queen of the Family Retreat Center. The retreat was a chance for the girls to strengthen their relationship with Christ and each other. The two-day retreat consisted of all-night Adoration, Stations of the Cross and a variety of speaker presentations including: Mr. Marcial, Dr. Lis-Planells, Mrs. Tesch, Miss Niemiec, Alex Lallier, Miss Hearn, Paul Karmo (Seminarian for the Chaldean Diocese in Detroit) and Fr. Gomez.

Thank you to everyone who organized this retreat, especially the consecrated women! The girls had a wonderful experience and shared their reflections below:

“I experienced Christ’s love when I was in adoration. Fr. Gomez’s meditations helped me see Christ.”

“I learned that I need to stay strong in my faith because I’m not always going to be surrounded by people who believe the same things as I do.”

“I had so much fun! It helped me to learn more about myself and how prayer is so important and how chastity and other virtues are so important in our lives”

“I would like others to know that this retreat helped me a lot to be mature and to defend my faith.”

“I learned how to make boys respect me and how to treat boys or next boyfriend and to pray to God because He gives me everything.”

“I learned not to be so worried about things. Also to trust in God more.”

“I experienced Christ’s love for me while on the retreat. The adoration at midnight helped me to understand this personal relationship as did watching the Passion.”
